We made arrangements with a local funeral home, and checked with the state. The state has a program to assist with burial costs. This is a good thing, as they aren't cheap. The funeral home is a family run business, and they seem to be sympathetic to our situation. Between everything (thanks to those that could and did) we have enough to cover things. The funeral home is hoping to have things taken care of tomorrow, if they can get the paperwork in line for us.

I miss you so much, little one.

I am glad that time eases such things. ./sigh

Amber's lung collapsed last night/early today. They couldn't get it back up. They called us to the hospital. We held her when they shut her vent down. My daughter's dead. (at 3:50PM EST) She had her mother's eyes.

*edit for time clarification*

Amber's doing okay, today. Her white blood count is up slightly, so they are assuming she's got an infection until they can verify it (3 day culture), which means antibiotics switchout. Jaundice is still up, but not anything to worry about, yet. They got the PIC line in, and her weight is up to 360g. Head ultrasound schd. for tomorrow to check her brain.

They also mentioned that removing the Umbilical Cord IV can sometimes help with increasing pooping, since it can divert some blood flow away from the intestines. They are going to see if taking that out helps with her solids output, before subjecting her to Baby Enema.

I had hoped to go see her, today, but with everything to do it will probably be tomorrow.

The nurse said the weight gain did NOT look like just water-weight, so this is a good thing.

Checked in on Amber. She's had another good day. They repositioned her air tube, and she's now off the Oxy treatment (on Room Air.) Her OxySat is 98%. Her sugars are good, her lungs XRay came back good, her blood gases are good, CvCs good. She's off photo therapy, for now. She's getting treatment for the other type of Jaundice (meds) and a suppository for stooling. Also, her belly grew, and they are cutting back on food for a day to make sure it's just due to milk. They won't weigh her until tonight, so her last weight is still 310. Also, her eyes are opening more often, now. She's on a sedative drip to keep her from ripping off her leads, but she's still a bit feisty.

She made it through the first week, yay!

We went in and saw her today, after Omi had her staples removed.
She's doing okay, today.
Her weight is back up to 330g, again.
She's responding well to the milk, so they are going to 4 times a day with it.
Her vent settings are about the same, today.
Oxy went up to 30% last night, back down to 20%ish today.
Still a day by day thing, but as I understand it her chances of survival just went up notably.

./cheers on Baby Amber Rose

Prayers/Goodthoughts/Etc thanked for, and still welcomed.

Called today to check up on Amber. She's 5 days old now. They said her blood-work came back good, again, and that they are actually going to start feeding her! (1cc of milk every 12 hours) Go, kiddo!

All prayers, good-thoughts, well-wishing, energy, etc. are quite welcome, and thanked for.

Saw my daughter, again, today.
She's doing okay, overall.

She's lost most of the weight she gained, though she's not down below her birthweight.
(This was something we were told would probably happen, micro-premie weight bounces a lot.)
Her sodium was a little off, so they had to address that.
Her sugars are only being addressed as-needed, now, so that's good.
They are trying to scale back her BP meds, to see if she can now sustain a reasonable BP on her own.
She's continuing to pee, so her organs are working.
Her temp is being kept up easier, the incubator is only set to 99 instead of 104.
They've done two or three brain scans, so far, and though I don't have the radiologist take on it, the doctors who watched the techs do the scan said they didn't see any brain bleeds. (very, very good news)

She made it past the three day milestone, next stop is the one week milestone.

The doctor is trying to make sure we understand that it's still a touch and go thing. At this stage, if something goes wrong it's going to be (likely) a quick thing. We know this, but we're hoping that all the good signs and such will hold out for us. We live about 45 minutes from the hospital, so if they call with bad news we will likely try and break the land-speed record for back-road driving. I hope to not have to try that particular trick, of course.. My daughter seems to be a betting girl, and so far she's gotten along good with the odds. I hope she can keep it up.

They still have her being sedated, lightly, otherwise she gets annoyed by the medical equipment and tries to remove it.

I promised her that if she gets through this, we will take her to Disneyland/world, and the surrounding Parks.
Omi promised that she's be spoiled (though, not rotten) if she makes it though.

As always, thoughts/prayers are appreciated, and thanked for.
